The Truck Driver Strike in Iran: Their Message and the Consequences

BY Reza Hoseani

Since September 30th, a new round of truck driver strike continues, and the number of cities that joined this massive strike has reached more than 320 cities.

Recent events are that despite the pressure from the clerical regime, the strikers have decided not to abandon their rights and not surrender.

This is an unparalleled resistance that is in line with the uprising of the Iranian people, which, of course, costs them tremendously.

The crimes of the arrested by the security forces of the Iranian regime are very heavy under the unjust rules of the clerical regime; and besides, everyday that the strike continues, the drivers lose their sources of income ultimately results the burden on families not being able to survive.

However, the brave drivers understand that continuing and intensifying

their strike is the only way to achieve their goal. The key factor of victory

is to push back and not surrender! The more they insist on their rights and expand

their strike, the better their chances of realizing their objective in stopping

this regime from destroying the nation!

There is no doubt that the corrupt regime of mullahs faced with such a strike has no intention and can not even provide the demands or grant the rights of the drivers.

Instead, the regime has poured billions of dollars of Iran national resources into the pockets of the mullahs, revolutionary guards, the Basijis and their mercenaries, or spent it on widespread regional wars sponsoring terrorism and apparent interference in the neighboring countries.

The idea is that  the Mullahs don’t have the slightest intentions to help the Iranian citizens, otherwise it would not have been a medieval religious ruling!

The response of this criminal regime to all these demands is nothing but repression, imprisonment and executions. In

the meantime, at least 280 protesting truck drivers have been arrested.

In a word, this degenerate and reactionary regime thinks of nothing other than

the continuation of its disgraceful rule.

 However, the Iranian

people’s struggle during the past 40 years has shown it is impossible to silence

the their voices.

 Now, as a result of

the sacrifices made by Iranian people, the time has come to overthrow this

criminal regime.

 The truckers’ strike continues to

show that this regime can and must be brought to its knees, and that this

regime has no destiny other than being overthrown.

The people of Iran

can and will send this criminal regime to the dustbin of history. This day is very

near and at hand.

In a word, this degenerate and reactionary regime does not think of anything other than the continuation of its disgraceful rule.

But the bloody resistance of the Iranian people during the past 40 years has shown that it is impossible to choke the voices of the people of Iran.

Now it is the result of the sacrifices and blood of the Iranian people and the time has come to overthrow this criminal regime and the truckers’ strike continued to show that this diet can and should be turned on its knees and this regime has no destiny except for the overthrow of the future.

The people of Iran can and should send this criminal regime to the dustbin of history and this day is very near and accessible.
